As mentioned on the blog earlier this year, Nashville singer-songwriter Amelia White is touring the UK in May in support of her new album Beautiful And Wild, a mix of country, soul and 60s pop, which came out in January. The album features some of her favourite musicians including guitarists John Jackson (Dylan) and Doug Lancio (John Hiatt); keyboard man Billy Earheart (Amazing Rhythm Aces), and bass player Frank Swart (John Hiatt), plus special guests AJ Croce and the McCrary Sisters.
“How Van Gogh used canvas and paint to make his timeless masterpieces, Amelia uses lyric and melody to create songs that will touch and leave a lasting impression on every mood you’ve ever felt,” says producer Marco Giovino (Robert Plant’s Band of Joy, Patty Griffin, Norah Jones) who also plays drums on the album.
“Caught somewhere between alternative Americana, dysfunctional folk and melody heaven, this album lives and breathes its title. Richly produced by drummer-extraordinaire Marco Giovino at his new East Nashville Studios, this is a celestial distillation of innocence and experience.”(Gareth Hayes, R2 magazine)
