As 2012 looms closer, the prospect of longer days and a whole new year of music and festivals stretches out in front of us. To remind you of the summer and get you in the mood for what lies ahead, here’s a clip from the new Cambridge Folk Festival 2011 DVD. The two-hour DVD features a variety of top folk, roots, blues and acoustic music acts from the 2011 festival, including live performances from the main stage (Richard Thompson, Raul Malo, Bellowhead, Danu, Laura Marling, The Robert Cray Band, Kate Rusby, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Newton Faulkner, Port Isaac’s Fishermen’s Friends, Rumer and Penguin Café); intimate acoustic sessions (Martin Simpson, Hayes & Cahill, Abigail Washburn, Emily Portman and Caitlin Rose); plus footage of the legendary Pentangle performing Bruton Town with the late Bert Jansch.
