Eight-time Grammy Award-winning pianist, bandleader and ambassador of Cuban music and culture, Chucho Valdés, arrives in London next week to give three exclusive shows with his Afro-Cuban Messengers to celebrate his upcoming 70th birthday on the 9th October 2011. His London Soho gig on the 29th September 2011 at the Latin-inspired supper club Floridita in Wardour Street also marks the launch of Floridita’s new live music programme featuring live bands from across the musical spectrum, DJs, club nights, cabaret shows and themed musical evenings. Chucho then plays two nights at the Boisdale Jazz Club in Canary Wharf before heading to Dublin for one night only at the National Concert Hall. Catch him while you can!
