For One Night Only; Mawkin Plus Special Guests

Mawkin

On the 21st of April, Essex folk rebels and 3 times BBC Radio 2 Folk Award nominees Mawkin and special guests will be live in concert at The Weston Auditorium in Hatfield. Mawkin are forging a bold new sound that strengthens their instrumental roots and embraces a new, exuberant exploration into the traditional folk canon.

In this special event Mawkin collaborate with mercury prize nominee Eliza Carthy and devonshire folk singer Jim Causley. Supporting are Hannah James & Sam Sweeney – one of the finest young duos around – this promises to be an exciting evening of music and song.

The band said “We’re all really excited to be performing our new collaborations with Eliza and Jim at The Weston. It’s a brand new venue with a gorgeous acoustic and will make a beautiful setting for what looks to be a great night of music. There’ll be a few surprises for the audience too, and of course were delighted that Sam Sweeney and Hannah James can join us as support- we’ve got a huge amount of respect for what they do. Overall it should be an amazing night of folk music from some of the best musicians in the country.”

Tickets from £8 can be booked by calling 01707 281127 or visiting http://www.ticketline.co.uk/mawkin.
