Three times Grammy-nominated British singer-songwriter Joan Armatrading will be appearing on TV’s The One Show tomorrow evening (Weds 2nd May) on BBC One at 7pm to talk about her forthcoming release Starlight out on 28th May 2012 on Hypertension.
“Starlight is a jazz-flavoured CD that complements her two previous CDs, the blues-influenced 2007 release Into The Blues and 2010’s This Charming Life which is firmly rooted in rock and pop. Starlight is a collection of ten new compositions combining her love of jazz with her prowess as a singer, guitarist and songwriter.”
Joan has various gigs and festival appearances over the coming months, including Acoustic Festival of Britain (26th May); Salisbury Festival of Music and Art (7th June); Isle of Wight Festival (24th June) and Hop Farm Festival (30th June) with headliner Bob Dylan. Joan will also be headlining Cambridge Folk Festival (29th July) and Fairport’s Cropredy Convention (10th August) among others.
Tickets are now on sale for Joan’s 52-date autumn tour which starts in late September. Joan will be performing favourite songs from her back catalogue as well as new material from her Starlight album.
Special guest Chris Wood will be joining Joan on her autumn tour for all shows from 22nd September – 24th November 2012 (except Sligo).
