The Rachel Hair Trio have made a name for themselves on the Scottish folk scene playing lively and imaginative arrangements of trad and contemporary dance tunes and songs from Scotland, Galicia, Sweden, Brittany, Wales, Devon and the US.
Next week they head off round Scotland to play a handful of gigs in support of their new album No More Wings which came out last week. Supported by the talents of guitarist and vocalist Jenn Butterworth and double bassist Euan Burton, Scottish harp virtuoso Rachel Hair is also known for her abilities as a composer “conjuring up instantly memorable melodies from unlikely sources, including jumble sale rummages and unconventional birthday presents”. Listen to a snippet of Jenn Butterworth singing Cyril Tawney’s classic Grey Funnel Line and catch the trio playing live at the venues below.
