SummerTyne & The Living Is Easy… Gateshead’s Americana Festival Announces Full Line-Up…

The full line-up has just been announced for this year’s SummerTyne Americana Festival (22nd – 24th July 2011), a multi-stage event inside and outside The Sage Gateshead, one of the world’s premier concert halls, situated on the south bank of the River Tyne in Gateshead. During a weekend of Texan twang, vintage Nashville sounds, deep New Orleans’ soul, award-winning Americana, bluegrass, classic rock, films and much more, SummerTyne showcases world class acts alongside up-and-coming artists, making it one of the most highly regarded Americana festivals in the UK. This year’s headliners include Irma Thomas (the Soul Queen of New Orleans with one of only two UK shows), Raul Malo (former frontman of The Mavericks performing exclusively at Gateshead with the Northern Sinfonia), and Lyle Lovett (the unique Texas singer-songwriter). Tickets are on sale from 10am today. Read on for the full line-up.
