Well I have to confess that I didn’t see either of these coming and you have to feel the greatest sympathy for the Ghanaians. Like the Irish in the qualifiers they were cheated. Football needs to address this and find a way to make good, but with the blatant diving and feigning of injury to get players booked or sent off, the problems have been rife throughout this competition. In a desperate attempt to give you more insight into this track I tried searching for the title and got the lyrics, which naturally aren’t in English. So I thought I’d try the tag that said translate this page. The first verse came out thusly… I like the uneven / And I’m not on the sidewalk / Using fungi to Massera / Jackboot prop… Not so much translated as scrambled I suspect!! Can anyone out there help?? In the meantime the tune, or song, also features widely on YouTube and amidst 100 or so poorly filmed dancing couples is this rather curious Cabaret style rendition that has a certain fin-de-siècle creepiness to it.
